New Products

eDART conx Software
RJG now offers three eDART software modules. eDART apex™ for advanced process control, eDART flx™ for part containment, and now the eDART conx™ . The eDART conx (pronounced "connects") software module lets users view machine conditions, giving them the ability to easily verify that a process is repeatable. The software ensures the right processes are running and provides numerical and graphical tools allowing you to get to the cause of the problem. Questions like “Has the hold pressure changed? Is the screw mixing differently? Has someone adjusted the cooling time? Has the viscosity been rising?” can all be answered quickly right from your office. This shortens the time to find the causes and keeps utilization up. Additionally, conx software can easily be upgraded to the full eDART software (apex) if you need to run cavity pressure.

4mm Flush Mount Installation/Check Kit
RJG's 4mm Flush Mount Sensor Installation/Check Kit contains the tools and documentation to install and check dimensions of the pockets for standard and Lynx4mm Piezoelectric Flush Mount style cavity pressure sensor installations. Sensor accuracy is dependent on proper installation of the sensor. RJG has researched and polled customers on the reasons for sensor failures in the field and we have determined that many of the problems companies have with using sensors comes from improper installation of the sensors.  If a sensor fits too tightly in the tool it can cause preload on the sensor and inaccurate readings or if the bore is not concentric, this too can cause improper readings from the sensor. RJG designed this new kit as a tool to ensure proper installation of flush mount sensors.

Lynx Proximity Switch Interface
Have the ability to obtain a machine signal quickly and easily with the new Lynx Proximity Switch Interface with Proximity Sensor. This product provides a simple way to get a machine sequencing signal, typically mold clamped, from any molding machine. The interface can be temporarily attached using magnets to determine the correct placement position before permanent mounting, allowing you to implement the eDART System quickly and effectively.

DOE for Injection Molding Workshop

Does it take you too long to qualify new molds?

Do your DOEs cost too much, showing little results?

Looking for a simpler, systematic approach to validating your processes based on scientific, statistically meaningful data?

In this in-plant workshop we will cover:

  • Why DOE for injection molding is different
  • The critical role of the Four Plastics Variables
  • The 11 step checklist for planning the experiment, running the parts, and analyzing the results
  • Understanding when to use DOE – and when not
  • Finding the optimum process to meet multiple part quality requirements
  • Determine the acceptable processing window using data
  • Analyzing the data using simple yet powerful statistical tools

We will break into small groups to run simple experiments on several of your own molds.  The “hands on” emphasis ensures that your people will be able to conduct successful experiments after conclusion of the class. Contact our training department for more details.

Coming Soon!
RJG re-launches it's web site

Be sure to check www.rjginc.com often because in the next couple of weeks we will launch our new website. More customer focused than ever, our improved website will help RJG’s customers quickly and easily find solutions to their problems. With more dynamic and engaging content, easier navigation, more robust search, customer log-in and credit card payment ability RJG’s website is the place to go to find injection molding processing knowledge, products and support.

Cross-Copy function upgraded
RJG developed Cross-Copy as a tool for sharing data between eDART™'s that are networked with an eDART Data Manager (EDM). When you move a mold to another press, the mold file is automatically transferred to the eDART. This greatly simplifies adding or moving eDART’s on a network. Contact us for for more details.

$75,000 in federal grant money!!
The Trade Adjustment Assistance program is offering a 50/50 cost sharing of projects aimed at improving a company's competitive position.Click here for more information.

In the Lab
Toyo has upgraded their SI-55IV 55 ton electric machine which is on consignment in our lab. Click here for a full list of our lab partners.

Process Monitoring & Control for Medical Molders Webinar
We recently presented a 1 hour webinar for medical molders that you can now access from the archives. This webinar discusses the proven, data driven strategies to simplify validation processes while improving quality and reducing costs. Simple techniques are presented for documenting processes to allow easy transfer of molds between presses and we discussed the importance of process monitoring, and how to choose the right data to monitor. We also identify a systematic approach to risk assessment for new molds and examin how to train your processors in scientific molding techniques. Click here for the archived version of this webinar.

Medical Molding Symposium
October 13, 2009
RJG’s Medical Molding Symposium focuses on helping companies deal with the very expensive and time/resource consuming task of meeting FDA requirement for IQ, OQ and PQ. Medical molders face a unique and growing set of challenges. FDA guidelines must be met and quality must be maintained, but at the same time ways to reduce costs associated with documentation and inspection must be reduced. For more information on this free seminar or to register click here.
